Use ground cloves in:
  1. Baked Goods: Ground cloves are often used in spice blends for cookies, cakes, and breads. They pair well with cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Try adding them to gingerbread cookies, pumpkin pie, or spiced apple cake.
  2. Mulled Drinks: Ground cloves are a key ingredient in mulled wine and cider. They add a warm and aromatic flavour to the beverages. Combine them with cinnamon sticks, star anise, and citrus fruits for a delightful winter drink.
  3. Meat Marinades and Rubs: Ground cloves work well in marinades and rubs for meats such as pork, beef, and lamb. They add depth and help to balance out the flavours. Mix them with other spices like garlic, cumin, and paprika for a delicious rub.
  4. Indian Cuisine: Cloves are a common spice used in Indian cooking. They are often added to curries, biryanis, and spice blends like garam masala. They provide a warm and rich flavour to the dishes.
  5. Pickling: Ground cloves can be used in pickling brines for vegetables like cabbage, beets, or cucumbers. They add a unique flavour and help in preserving the vegetables.
  6. Chutneys and Sauces: Ground cloves can be added to chutneys and sauces to give them a warm and spicy kick. They work well in tomato-based sauces, barbecue sauces, and fruit chutneys.
