Herb mini pizzas

Creating little chefs, spreading sauce, sprinkling cheese, and assembling toppings are simple tasks that introduce children to basic culinary skills, plus making pizzas at home allows children to see and choose their own ingredients, encouraging healthier eating habits.

  • Preparation Time: 15 minutes
  • Cooking Time: 10-12 minutes
  • 4 mini pizza bases (or 4 small flatbreads)
  • 200g passata (tomato sauce)
  • 200g grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • A handful of black olives, sliced
  • Any other topping you have to hand such as ham, mushroom, tomato, red onion, pineapple etc, have fun!
  • A handful of fresh basil leaves
  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 220°C (200°C fan) or Gas Mark 7.
  2. Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the passata with the dried oregano, basil, and thyme.
  3. Assemble the Pizzas: Place the mini pizza bases on a baking sheet. Spread a spoonful of the herby tomato sauce over each base.
  4. Add Toppings: Sprinkle the grated mozzarella evenly over the pizzas. Add sliced olives on top.
  5. Bake: Drizzle a little olive oil over each pizza. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the edges of the pizza are golden.
  6. Serve: Let the pizzas cool slightly before serving. Scatter a few basil leaves over the top for decoration
