A devilishly moreish Halloween treat — crunchy, sticky caramel clusters tangled in edible “spice webs”, laced with Greenfields cinnamon, ginger and black sesame seeds. Frighteningly addictive and wickedly original!

Sinister Spiced Caramel Web Clusters

Typically described as:

These Sinister Spiced Caramel Web Clusters are like nothing you’ve seen before — part sweet, part spooky, and entirely delicious. Imagine silky caramel threads spun into eerie webs that trap crunchy black sesame “spider eggs” and a whisper of warming spice. This treat uses Greenfields Ground Cinnamon, Ground Ginger, and Black Sesame Seeds to create a hauntingly aromatic bite that’s perfect for Halloween night — sweet enough for kids, sophisticated enough for grown-ups.

Approx 12 clusters

Preparation time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Setting time: 30 minutes

  • 100 g caster sugar

  • 2 tbsp honey (use Greenfields Greek Blossom Honey)

  • 50 g butter (unsalted)

  • 1 tsp Greenfields Ground Cinnamon

  • ½ tsp Greenfields Ground Ginger

  • 1 tbsp Greenfields Black Sesame Seeds

  • 1 tbsp Greenfields White Sesame Seeds

  • 1 small pinch Greenfields Sea Salt (Fine)

  • 75 g puffed rice cereal or cornflakes

  • Optional: edible black shimmer dust or orange sprinkles for decoration

  • Line a baking tray with parchment paper and lightly grease it.

  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, honey, and butter. Stir until melted and golden brown — about 5–6 minutes.

  • Remove from heat and stir in cinnamon, ginger, and sea salt.

  • Quickly fold in the puffed rice and both sesame seeds. Mix until coated.

  • Spoon small clusters onto the parchment and shape slightly into “webs” using the back of a spoon.

  • While still warm, use a fork to pull fine caramel strands from the pan to drape over each cluster — forming “spider webs”.

  • Sprinkle with shimmer dust or Halloween sprinkles. Allow to set completely (about 30 minutes).

For extra crunch, add crushed pretzel bits to the mix. To make “spiders”, dip raisins in melted dark chocolate and stick two onto each cluster before setting. A light dusting of Greenfields Cinnamon just before serving enhances the spooky aroma.
