Cherry clafoutis with mahlab

  • 200g fresh cherries, pitted
  • 60g all-purpose flour
  • 30g sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 200ml whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp Greenfields Mahlab powder
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and Mahlab powder until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk until the batter is smooth.
  5. Grease a 9-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  6. Arrange the pitted cherries evenly on the bottom of the baking dish.
  7. Pour the batter over the cherries.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the clafoutis is set and lightly golden on top.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5-10 minutes.
  10. Dust the clafoutis with powdered sugar before serving.
