Bring out the taste of lavender:
  1. Lavender-infused Sugar: Add dried lavender buds to a jar of granulated sugar and let it infuse for a couple of weeks. Use this lavender sugar in baking, such as cookies, cakes, or scones, to impart a delicate floral flavor.
  2. Lavender Lemonade: Make a refreshing drink by combining fresh lemon juice, water, sugar (or lavender-infused sugar), and a sprinkle of dried lavender buds. Stir well and serve over ice.
  3. Lavender Shortbread Cookies: Add a tablespoon of dried lavender buds to your favorite shortbread cookie recipe. The lavender will infuse the buttery cookies with a delightful floral taste.
  4. Lavender Herbed Chicken: Mix dried lavender with other herbs, such as thyme, rosemary, and garlic, to create a fragrant herb rub for chicken. Roast or grill the chicken for a delicious and aromatic main course.
  5. Lavender Honey Glaze: Combine dried lavender buds with honey and warm gently to infuse the flavors. Drizzle this lavender-infused honey over roasted vegetables, grilled meats, or even as a sweetener in your tea.
Try this recipe: Indulge in the delightful combination of flavorus with this Roasted Lavender Honey Glazed Chicken. The aromatic lavender, combined with the sweetness of honey, creates a delectable glaze that perfectly complements the tender and juicy chicken. Ingredients:
  • 4 chicken breasts, bone-in and skin-on
  • 2 tablespoons dried lavender flowers
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Cooking Instructions:
    1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (180°C fan-forced or 400°F).
    2. In a small bowl, combine the dried lavender flowers, honey, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a smooth glaze.
    3. Place the chicken breasts in a large baking dish, skin side up. Using a pastry brush or spoon, generously brush the lavender honey glaze over the chicken, ensuring that each piece is well coated.
    4. Once the oven has reached the desired temperature, carefully place the baking dish with the chicken in the oven.
    5. Roast the chicken for approximately 30-35 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F). Baste the chicken with the glaze every 10 minutes to ensure a sticky and caramelized coating.
    6. Remove the chicken from the oven and allow it to rest for a few minutes before serving. This will help the juices redistribute, resulting in a more flavorful and tender chicken.
    7. Serve the roasted lavender honey glazed chicken with your choice of sides, such as roasted vegetables or a fresh green salad. Drizzle any remaining glaze from the baking dish over the chicken for an extra burst of flavor.
