Aleppo Chilli 75g

Category:

Aleppo chilli is characterised by its moderate heat level and rich, fruity flavour. It has a slightly sweet and tangy taste with hints of raisin or sun-dried tomatoes. The peppers are typically harvested when they are fully ripe and then partially sun-dried and coarsely ground to create the spice. Used in Turkish, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine.

Here are some uses and recipes that incorporate Aleppo chilli:
  1. Aleppo Chilli Oil: Combine crushed Aleppo chilli flakes with olive oil in a jar. Let it sit for a few days to infuse the oil with the flavor and heat of the chilli. Use this flavourful oil to drizzle over pizzas, pasta, roasted vegetables, or grilled meats.
  2. Aleppo Chilli Hummus: Add a teaspoon or two of Aleppo chilli flakes to your favourite hummus recipe for a mild, smoky kick. Serve with pita bread, fresh vegetables, or as a spread for sandwiches.
  3. Aleppo Chilli Marinade: Create a marinade by combining Aleppo chilli flakes with olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, and your choice of herbs (such as parsley or oregano). Use this marinade to flavour chicken, beef, or vegetables before grilling or roasting.
  4. Aleppo Chilli Seasoning: Mix Aleppo chilli flakes with other spices like cumin, coriander, paprika, and garlic powder to create a versatile seasoning blend. Use it to add flavour to roasted vegetables, stir-fries, soups, or sprinkle it over grilled meats.
  5. Aleppo Chilli Yogurt Sauce: Combine plain yogurt with Aleppo chilli flakes, minced garlic, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Use this spicy yogurt sauce as a dip for kebabs, grilled vegetables, or as a flavourful topping for tacos and wraps.
  6. Aleppo Chilli Roasted Nuts: Toss mixed nuts (such as almonds, cashews, or peanuts) with melted butter, Aleppo chilli flakes, and a touch of honey. Roast them in the oven until golden and fragrant. These spicy nuts make a great snack or party appetiser.
  7. Aleppo Chilli Salad Dressing: Whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, honey, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, salt, and Aleppo chilli flakes to make a zesty salad dressing. Drizzle it over mixed greens, roasted vegetables, or grain salads.

Ingredients: chilli flakes, salt and vegetable oil.
