Harissa is a versatile seasoning and can be used in various ways. Here are some popular uses:
  1. Marinade: Use harissa as a marinade for meats such as chicken, lamb, or fish. Mix it with olive oil, lemon juice, and other herbs to create a flavorful marinade.
  2. Sauce: Combine harissa with yogurt or mayonnaise to make a spicy dipping sauce or condiment for sandwiches, burgers, or wraps.
  3. Spice Rub: Rub harissa onto vegetables, tofu, or meats before grilling or roasting for a spicy and flavourful crust.
  4. Flavour Booster: Add a spoonful of harissa to soups, stews, or sauces to enhance their taste and give them a spicy kick.

A few recipe ideas to bring out the taste of harissa:

  • Harissa Roasted Vegetables: Toss your favourite vegetables (such as carrots, cauliflower, and bell peppers) with harissa, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Roast them in the oven until tender and slightly charred.
  • Harissa Grilled Chicken: Marinate chicken breasts in a mixture of harissa, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, and salt. Grill the chicken until cooked through and serve with a side of couscous or salad.
  • Harissa Hummus: Blend cooked chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, and harissa together until smooth. Adjust the amount of harissa to achieve your desired level of spiciness. Serve with pita bread or raw vegetables.
  • Harissa Spiced Couscous: Cook couscous according to package instructions. Stir in some harissa, along with chopped dried fruits, toasted nuts, and fresh herbs like mint or parsley. Fluff with a fork and serve as a side dish.

Cayenne pepper, paprika, caraway, coriander, tomato, salt, garlic and cumin.
