Hot Smoked Paprika 75g

Hot Smoked Paprika 75g

Hot smoked paprika, also known as pimentón de la Vera, is a versatile spice that can be used in a variety of dishes to add smoky heat and depth of flavour with a little kick! Makes a great garnish and adds depth and intense colour to dishes.

WHAT CAN I CREATE WITH...

Here are some popular uses for hot smoked paprika:
  • Seasoning for meats: Hot smoked paprika works exceptionally well as a seasoning for meats like chicken, beef, pork, and lamb. It adds a smoky flavor and a touch of heat. Rub it onto the meat before grilling, roasting, or barbecuing.
  • Flavouring for soups and stews: Add a pinch or two of hot smoked paprika to your soups, stews, and chilli recipes to enhance the smoky undertones. It can provide a wonderful depth of flavour to hearty dishes like bean soups, goulash, or seafood stews.
  • Marinades and rubs: Incorporate hot smoked paprika into marinades and rubs for your grilled or roasted dishes. Combine it with other spices, herbs, garlic, and oil to create a flavourful mixture for marinating or coating meats, poultry, or even tofu.
  • Spice up sauces and dips: Hot smoked paprika can add a smoky kick to sauces and dips. Mix it into barbecue sauce, tomato sauce, or mayonnaise-based dips like aioli or chipotle dip. It works well in combination with other spices like cumin or garlic powder.
  • Flavouring for roasted vegetables: Sprinkle hot smoked paprika over roasted vegetables like potatoes, carrots, cauliflower, or Brussels sprouts to give them a delicious smoky flavour. Toss the vegetables with oil and the spice before roasting for a mouthwatering side dish.
  • Devilled eggs: Hot smoked paprika can be used to garnish devilled eggs, adding both flavour and visual appeal. Sprinkle a small amount over the filling or dust it on top of the finished eggs.
  • Seasoning for dips and spreads: Mix hot smoked paprika into hummus, bean dips, or cream cheese spreads for an added smoky and spicy element. It works well in Mediterranean-inspired dips or as a flavour booster for spicy Mexican dips like queso dip or salsa.
Remember that hot smoked paprika can vary in intensity, so it’s always a good idea to start with a small amount and adjust according to your taste preferences.

A deep smoky flavour with a nice spicy kick. I use it in stews, BBQ rubs, and even on roasted veg – really lifts the dish.
