Simple cinnamon-sugar apple crisps

Ingredients

  • 2 large apples
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • Knife (with adult supervision)
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring spoons
  1. Preheat the oven to 110°C (225°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Wash the apples thoroughly. With adult supervision, slice the apples as thinly as possible into rounds. Remove any seeds from the slices.
  3. Mix the spices: In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg.
  4. Arrange the apple slices: Lay the apple slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Sprinkle the spice mix evenly over the apple slices.
  6. Bake the apple crisps in the preheated oven for about 2 hours. Flip the slices halfway through to ensure they dry evenly. The apples should be dry and crisp.
  7. Cool and enjoy: Remove the apple crisps from the oven and let them cool completely. They will become crispier as they cool.
