Spiced naan pizza

Learn about the flavours of different spices, the importance of measurements, and how to follow a recipe from start to finish., making cooking a fun adventure.

  • Cooking Time: 12 minutes
  • Total Time: 22 minutes
  • 2 naan breads
  • 100g tomato passata
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 100g grated mozzarella cheese
  • 50g chopped peppers (any colour)
  • 50g cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 red onion sliced thinly into circles
  • handful of olives sliced (optional)
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan) or Gas Mark 6.

Prepare the Sauce

  • In a small bowl, mix the tomato passata with the olive oil, garam masala, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, turmeric, and black pepper. This will be your spiced pizza sauce.

Assemble the Pizzas

  • Place the naan breads on a baking tray.
  • Spread the spiced tomato sauce evenly over each naan.
  • Sprinkle the grated mozzarella cheese over the top.
  • Add the cherry tomatoes, red onion and olives.

Bake

  • Place the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Garnish and Serve

  • Remove the pizzas from the oven and let them cool slightly.
  • Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
