Homemade beef stew

Homemade Beef Stew a classic homemade winter warmer.

  • Vegetable stock
  • Beef stock
  • 1 brown onions
  • 1 celery stick
  • 2 carrots – large
  • 500 g white potatoes
  • Dash Worcestershire sauce
  • Greenfields thyme
  • Greenfields bay leaf


  1. Coat the beef in the flour and pepper mixture.
  2. Heat the oil in a large casserole pot and add half of the beef. Half now as you don’t want to crowd the pan.
  3. Once the beef is browned on that side, flip to another side. Continue to cook until all of the beef is browned.
  4. Add vegetable juice, beef broth, onions, celery, Worcestershire sauce, thyme and salt to the pot. Cover and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Add diced potatoes and carrots, stir to combine and let it simmer until the vegetables are tender.
