Shish Kebabs

Shish kebab is delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed as a main course or a delightful addition to any barbecue or gathering

Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Marinating Time: 1-2 hours (optional)
Cooking Time: 12-15 minutes
Serves: 4

  • 500 grams (1.1 lbs) boneless meat of your choice (beef, lamb, or chicken), cut into cubes
  • 1 large red onion, cut into chunks
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • 1 green bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • 8-10 cherry tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Greenfields kebab seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Metal or wooden skewers (if using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes before use)
  1. In a large bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, kebab seasoning, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a marinade.
  2. Add the meat cubes to the marinade and toss until they are well-coated. If time allows, cover the bowl and let the meat marinate in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours to enhance the flavours. However, if you’re short on time, you can proceed to the next step immediately.
  3. Preheat your grill or barbecue to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the marinated meat cubes onto skewers, alternating with the chunks of onion, bell peppers, and cherry tomatoes. Repeat this process until all the ingredients are used.
  5. Place the skewers on the preheated grill and cook for approximately 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the meat is cooked through and the vegetables are slightly charred and tender.
  6. Once cooked, remove the kebabs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
  7. Serve the Shish Meat and Vegetable Kebabs hot, accompanied by a fresh salad, tzatziki sauce, or your favourite dipping sauce.

Enjoy your flavourful Shish Meat and Vegetable Kebabs!

Note: Cooking times may vary depending on the heat of your grill or barbecue, so it’s essential to keep an eye on the kebabs to prevent overcooking or burning.
