Baobab banana smoothie

This baobab banana smoothie is not just a tasty treat but also an educational experience that can spark a lifelong interest in cooking and healthy eating. Introducing baobab powder in a smoothie helps children discover new flavours and textures and a simple recipe that will help children develop their culinary skills. (Adults can enjoy this too!)

  1. Preparation Time: 5 minutes
  2. Total Time: 5 minutes
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 250ml almond milk (or any preferred milk)
  • 2 tablespoons baobab powder
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional, adjust to taste)
  • A handful of ice cubes
  1. Peel the Bananas: Start by peeling the bananas and breaking them into chunks. This is a great step for children to practice their motor skills.
  2. Measure the Ingredients: Let the children measure out 250ml of almond milk and 2 tablespoons of baobab powder. This can help them learn about measuring and counting.
  3. Combine in Blender: Add the banana chunks, almond milk, baobab powder, and honey (if using) into a blender. Include a handful of ice cubes to make the smoothie cold and refreshing.
  4. Blend: Blend the mixture until smooth. This step should be supervised by an adult, but children can press the blend button with guidance.
  5. Serve: Pour the smoothie into glasses and enjoy!
